  1. WG3: Algorithms • Coordinator: Chris Glasbey • Vice: Bjarne Ersboell • D1. Scientific focus1. to develop algorithms for data capture and automated or semi-automated processing and to review available software2. to coordinate building of a data warehouse (database structures and software) enablingefficient data storage and access, matching compositional and MQ data with pedigree and other performance records. This will allow across flock/herd, breed and country evaluations

  2. D2. Work plan • The main objective is to develop algorithms for data capture, processing, storage and interrogation • as well as review available software. The practical objectives are:1. to exchange ideas on data capture, data safeguard and data transfer2. to improve the tissues segmentation and its automation3. to develop algorithms for automation of image analysis4. to develop prediction equations for different tissues based on generated parameters from the image analysis and carcass dissection data5. to discuss ideas on formats for data storage6. to discuss methods of statistically analysing the resulting predicted data for input into decision support tool for advising farmers and processors on how to produce the best quality product • Deliverables will be algorithms, software, prediction equations and recommendations for data • management, image analysis and statistical issues.
