Modifying CSP Contracts • ProTracts requires that current year funds are present on an itemPRIORto doing a modification. • This means for all contracts, the Promote button must be used to obligate before changes contract changes can be made. • This was part of the fundamental design when CSP was deployed 6 years ago. Changes are planned for later in the year to allow more flexibility regarding this design requirement. United States Department of AgricultureNatural Resources Conservation Service

Modifying CSP Contracts This is currently in place for both the Security and Stewardship (non-CMT mods) program. • Failure to Promote the items prior to modification will result in the modification being blocked before changes are made. Modifying CSP 2008 Contracts • Some contracts must be modified prior to making payments. • The only modifications that are currently enabled are ones where CMT re-evaluation is not necessary: • Acreage or Land Unit Description • Cancellation • Termination • Full Land Transfer • Payment Shares United States Department of AgricultureNatural Resources Conservation Service

Modifying 2008 CSP Contracts • CMT enabled modifications will tentatively be available in mid-November. • Training will be provided that includes information and planned updates to CSP policy in CPM 440 Part 508.101. • Information will be provided by NHQ as soon the date has been set.   23. CSP Contracts & CRP • A CSP participant with contract acres accepted into CRP will request to have those acres removed from the CSP contract.  The contract modification to remove acres accepted into CRP will: • Be processed once business tool modification functions are enabled; • Be completed as soon as practicable after the payment for activities carried out in fiscal year 2010 has been made; and • Reflect an effective termination date of September 30, 2010 by placing specific language in the modification reason that, “This modification is to terminate <insert land and acres> for participationin CRP contract number <insert number>.  The effective termination date of the subject acres from the contract was September 30, 2010”.
