  3. Executive Summary My goal as the doctor of this new concept is to provide my patients with a high tech serene atmosphere. I hope to purchase a Lot on the Anna Maria Island Beach and have my patients rooms made out of glass to calm nerves and make dentistry a new relaxing experience. This new concept is truly “Smiles by the Sea”, and with the best technology, and first class customer service we will outshine our competition.

  4. Mission Statement Our mission at Oceanside Dentistry is to provide the highest quality medical care to all of our patients using the most advanced technology.  We strive to provide our patients with first class care in every aspect of our business.  We will maintain the highest ethics and standards with our patients, staff, insurance companies, and associates.  But most importantly at Oceanside Dentistry we want to inspire interest and educate people in the prevention of disease and the promotion of human health.

  5. The Team Doctor Katherine Kopstad • Graduated in the Top 4 percent of my high school class • Went to the University of South Florida and received a degree in Pre-Dentistry • Graduated From the University of Florida Dental School • 9 years of experience as an intern in a dental office • Parents were successful entrepreneurs, started a multi million dollar company from the ground up

  6. Business Concept My business concept is a very unique one. Unlike any other dentist office in our area I want to have a whole wall of my patients rooms made out of glass overlooking the ocean. I plan to have the best technology and equipment and do everything by computer so I can be efficient and organized.

  8. Industry Analysis • Dentists held about 161,000 jobs in 2006. • Job Outlook -Average employment growth will generate some job openings, but most openings will result from the need to replace the large number of dentists expected to retire. Job prospects should be good as new dentists take over established practices or start their own. AAP’s recent consumer survey found: • 50% consider the smile the first facial feature they notice • 80% are not happy with their smile • 83% of people believe their teeth are more important to their appearance than hair and eyes • 74% of Americans are affected by some type of periodontal  or gum disease or gingivitis.

  9. SWOT Analysis Strengths • Best doctor and Medical staff in Manatee County • Best new concept and facilities • Highest quality technology and customer service  • Weaknesses • A lot of other practices to compete with • Out of the price range of most low-income families • Opportunities • Help out my community by giving back and donating my time and money • Making substantial profits with this new one of a kind concept • Giving people smiles they will love to show off! • Threats • Severe weather (hurricanes) in Florida could potentially ruin the facility • Someone with the same idea’s as me

  10. Target Market My Target Market is going to be mostly the upper class society in Manatee and Sarasota Counties that will pay the most for the best care, quality, and customer service. There is currently a population of 700,000 people in these two counties that could be potential customers. And with Manatee being one of the fastest growing communities in the U.S, there will be plenty of new residents who will be in need of dental care.

  11. Market Summary The dentistry market has changed a lot since the past and will definitely change a lot in our future. New technology is coming out that is going to make dentistry a whole new world. But the good thing is no matter what happens with our economy people will always have the need for dentists. So whether the prices go up or down I will always stay in business.

  12. Opportunities • Prices will be too high for some patients-Priceswill be the perfect range for some patients and generate a lot of profit • Some people are scared to go to the dentist office-Withmy relaxing and welcoming environment going to the dentist will be something looked forward too.

  13. Competitive Analysis • There are currently 20 dentists on Anna Maria island where my practice would be • They are all highly trained professionals that have great quality care • There’s not a lot of “inexpensive” land to purchase on the water which might be a barrier

  14. Competition My four biggest competitors are… New Image Dentistry - Lisa Brewer, DMDBeautiful Healthy Smiles With A Gentle, Comprehensive Approach4923 Clark Road Medical Plaza,Sarasota,FL34231 Paradise Dental 1711 Lakewood Ranch BoulevardBradenton, FL 34211-4906 Troxler & Smith Oral Surgery Associates 3914 9th Avenue WestBradenton, FL 34205-1704Phone: (941) 747-5597 Rubino Thomas G DDS Ms PA 1906 59th Street WestBradenton, FL 34209-4639

  15. Strategic Positioning: Competitive Advantage Competitor #1 Oceanside Dentistry can gain a competitive share over New Image Dentistry by having better quality technology than they have. Competitor #2 Oceanside Dentistry can gain a competitive share over Paradise Dental by having better customer service offering more complimentary things. Competitor #3 Oceanside Dentistry can gain a competitive share over Thomas Rubino by having better prices and a friendlier staff. Competitor #4 Oceanside Dentistry can gain a competitive share over Troxler and Smith by providing a better facility than there’s. Their building is in a bad part of town and really run down. All their equipment and patient rooms are very outdated.

  16. Marketing Plan & Sales Strategy • I plan on advertising my company by… • Television Commercials • Newspaper Ads • Magazine Ads • I’m going to advertise these key points… • Great Facility • Best staff and doctor in the area • Best customer service • Highest quality for your money

  23. Sales Budget-First year

  24. Financial Plan Income Statement Balance Sheet

  25. Resource Requirements • Personal- Need to find a first class staff and investors to pay for everything • Technology- Need to purchase all new equipment to furnish the office that is at the highest technology. • Finances- Need to have 5 million dollars to pay for construction of building, purchasing all new equipment, and hiring a whole new staff. • Promotion-Need to have a budget for promoting our name and new concept and advertising in various places. • Products- Need to research and purchase the highest quality equipment for every aspect of the business • Services- Need to purchase an Otis Spunkmyer Machine to make fresh cookies, and complimentary refreshments for patients.

  26. Risks and Rewards There is always going to be a risk in starting a new business especially if it’s an idea that has never been tried before. There is a risk that people won’t like the idea of my concept and won’t like the higher quality prices. But personally I think the potential rewards greatly outweigh this. And I think with everything that this business has going for it there is going to be a lot of profit in the future.
