  13. Cultural differences are part of the fun of studying abroad. Life in Pamplona is easier in some ways and less convenient in others, food is different, mealtimes are later, stores and businesses close for siesta, interaction between men and women students is more traditional, and English is not as widely spoken in this part of Spain. There may be some surprises along the way. If you keep an open mind and remain flexible, you will have many amazing once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Spanish Culture

  17. Maria Segui-Gomez, University of Navarra School of Medicine, teaches epidemiology, biostatistics and public health. Specializes in decision analysis and economic evaluation of injury prevention techniques at Johns Hopkins. Kerry Krutilla, Indiana University SPEA, focus is on benefit-cost analysis, environmental policy analysis, evaluation of environmental programs, and natural resource management in developing countries. John Graham, Indiana University SPEA, has been Dean since 2008. The objective is to help students become critical consumers of information about the economic impacts of health, safety, and environmental technologies.  It is aimed at managers, policy makers and advocates rather than technical analysts. The course uses numerical case studies, but is not highly mathematical or theoretical. Topics cover preventive and therapeutic medicine, occupational and environmental health, consumer protection and injury control. CourseObjective

  20. The courses are designed specifically for SPEA majors Course credits count toward requirements for undergraduate BSPA, BSPH, and BSAM majors; BSES students must consult Dr. Bruce Douglas. Honors credit is available. Courses fulfill degree requirements for graduate programs except MAAA, where they will count as electives.
