  3. Active - Passive • So, sentences can be in either active or passive voice. • In active voice the “doer (subject)” is important. We know the doer. Aliwrites these stories. (Ali is the doer, “stories” is the object) • In passive voice we don’t know the “doer”, the “doer” is not importantorthe “doer” isobvious. Thethieveswerecaughtlastnight.

  4. THE ACTIVE VOICE A VERB IS IN THE ACTIVE VOICE WHEN THE SUBJECT DOES SOMETHING OR IS ACTIVE. EXAMPLE: The hunter shot the bird. The hunter is the SUBJECT. IT HAS DONE SOMETHING. THE SUBJECT IS ACTIVE.
