  2. Types of DJs • There are many types of DJs in the music industry. You have Club DJs who preform in the night an example of this is David Guetta, you can hear him play in the clubs. • Someone similar to Club DJs would be Producer DJs they work in a recording studio. Nicky Romero is a famous type of producer DJ he has music videos, ITunes downloads and CDs on sale. Since he is so famous you can hear him preform at concerts live.

  3. Types of DJs • A type of DJ that interacts more with their currentt audience is a Radio DJ he works at a Radio Station. Someone that is a local Radio DJ is Preston (C.I 107.1 fm) you can hear him over the radio. • The last type of DJ I will be mentioning is a Mobile/ Party DJ. They preform at Parties and Weddings and example of this is Jenny Z.

  4. Club DJ- Job Description • As a Club DJ you might: • Play and mix records in clubs or bars • To create atmosphere or keep people dancing • Choose music to suit your audiences taste and the venue • Work with an MC who raps or sings over the music

  5. Club DJ- Working Environment • When you’re a Club DJ you would work in bars and nightclub, which can be hot, noisy and even over crowed at some times. Since you are working in a Club you must very flexible to fairly flexible schedule since some times, you wont know if you are going to work over time or have to squeeze another performance in your schedule.

  6. ClubDJ- Audience & Material • Your audience will go with what you play but will be very openly express their dislikes in your mix of music. Your material is your own with some song suggestions from the audience.

  7. Radio DJ- Job Description • As a Radio DJ you are required to interview studio guests when they appear by asking a variety of questions. Discuss ideas with Phone, emails, texts and social media. The producer, write scripts and prepare playlists for future shows. You also need to keep up an entertaining and natural flow of chat. Since you are working on the radio you must keep a very tight timing schedule. Interaction with your audience through phone- ins, emails, texts and social media. • Working Environment: Radio DJs works mainly in small air-conditioned studios.

  8. Radio DJ- Audience & Material • Your audience is unknown until they make themselves known as you are performing over the radio. Your material is you prepared or your audiences suggestions.

Club DJ Radio DJ Both • Interview studio guests • Keep to a very tight timing schedule • Keep up an entertaining and natural flow of chat • Work with a MC who raps or sings • Operates lighting and visual effects in time to the beat • Choose music to suit audience taste • Choose music to be played • Play records and beats

  10. Producer DJ- Job Description • You must be knowledgeable with the technical aspects of music production. Also need to work together with sound engineer while also being able to work with a range a DJ equipment. Because as the world progresses the basics for the DJ setup will possibly change too or might be updated.

  11. Producer DJ- Working Environment • Loud crowed concerts (mainly professionals). Your working area could be very tight and confined or spacious. But mainly you’ll be independent except with the help of others that are specialized in the field that you called them to do for you.

  12. Producer DJ- Audience & Material • The material you use will be pieces that you have mixed or remixed yourself. Your audience will be loud and boisterous unless, you don’t do live performances and just put your music online then they will be completely unknown to you.

  13. Mobile DJ- Job Description • It will be a good skill to be a people person as you will interact with your audience. Experience will be needed in your profession as it’s not something for an amateur however if you are on this will be a good opportunity for hands on experience.

  14. Mobile DJ- Audience & Material + Working Environment • Your audience will be lively (depending on the music you playing) and always happy (hopefully). Your music will mainly contain upbeat music and be popular unless asked otherwise. Your working environment will either be inside or outside depending on your venue.

  15. Mobile/ Party DJ Producer DJ Both • Mixes or remixes of your own • Confined to a studio indoors • Perform in fairly – large crowds • Play what they make • Must be knowledgeable in the technical field of music production • Work sometimes outside • Take audience suggestions • Choose music based on occasion
