THE PROGRAMME The IMIM is a master of general management focused on industrial and service companies rising from the experience of three leading universities in Europe: Universidad Politecnica de Madrid (Madrid-Spain), Politecnico di Milano (Milan-Italy) and Royal Institute of Technology (Stockholm-Sweden). The overall aim of the programme is to provide students with broadly based and gradually deepened business and managerial skills relevant for an international career in industrial and service companies. The main distinctive characteristic of IMIM is the unique possibility to experience the real cultural, economical and social life in three different European countries, coupled with a coherent and unified education.

  4. THE STRUCTURE The duration of the programme is four semesters (two years). Students will spend a semester at each of the three participating universities, to enrich the multicultural experience and accustom students to work in different international environments. The fourth semester is entirely devoted to industry-related project work in close collaboration with European companies, forming the basis for a master thesis to be submitted towards the end of the semester.

THE STRUCTURE • First Term: Madrid - Spain:Foundations of Management and Finance (7 courses, 30 ECTS) • Second Term: Milan - Italy:Operations, Quality, Supply chain management (6 courses, 30 ECTS) • Third Term: Stockholm - Sweden: Integrative Themes (6 courses, 30 ECTS) • Fourth Semester: Project work in a company (30 ECTS)

  6. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS In order to be admitted to the IMIM programme, candidates must hold a Bachelor degree in a scientific or technical discipline Candidates must have a minimum level in English - Cambridge First Certificate or a TOEFL score of at least 197 points

DEGREE CONFERRED • Courses are recognised on the basis of ECTS • IMIM is recognised by the three universities as equivalent to the following degrees: • - International Master of Industrial Management at UPM • - International Master of Industrial Management at Politecnico di Milano • Master of Science in Industrial Management at KTH • The aim is to reach a joint degree in the near future

  9. TEACHING AND EVALUATION SYSTEM • Similar teaching approach (mix of content and culture; cases; experiences) • Common evaluation system (class participation, assignments, final exam)

COMMON QUALITY STANDARD a) Individual subjects and instructors b) Single semester in each of the universities of the consortium (international office, housing facilities, coaching and counselling, welfare services, language courses, activities aimed at social integration, other support measures). c) The whole programme including practical experience 3 levels of formal evaluation are currently performed

COORDINATION ASPECTS CONTINUOUS COORDINATION OF THE INSTITUTIONS INVOLVED IS FUNDAMENTAL IMIM Scientific commitee: constituted by two representatives of each university -regular meetings three times a year -phone conferences whenever necessary (usually every two months) IMIM Administrative Staff: -continuous contact by e-mail and phone conferences to clear all administrative issues
