1. Objective • TSW identify important issues related to European exploration of Texas by taking notes and completing a frayer model over the age of contact terms. • Homework – complete the frayer model

3. Warm-Up • Have you ever achieved a goal that you worked very hard for? What was it? (learning a new language, making it on the football team, getting all A’s, etc) • What were your feelings when you finally achieved the goal? (positive or negative feelings)

4. Activity • Students will take noted and participate in a class discussion. • Write the notes on page ________ (input) of your composition book.

Conquistadors • Conquistadors (Spanish soldiers) began sailing to the Americas. • The three G’s • Gold – they search for riches in hopes to gain wealth • God - Spanish thought it was their religious duty to defeat all nonbelievers. • Glory – the more land you conquered, the more power and glory you have

7. Frayer Model • You have received frayer models for the terms of Age of Contact. • The definitions have been supplied. You will use the word in a sentence, rewrite the sentence in your own words, draw an illustration of the term. • Once you have completed the frayer model we will move on to important individuals
