My Head is FREEZING!! • Male Pattern Baldness • 50 mill men in US • 40% post menopausal woman • Alopecia Areata • ~equal in males and females • 1.7% of the population • 4 Million in the U.S.A. • Childhood • Psychologically devastating • Alopicia Totalis/Universalis • 800,000 in US • childhood/atopic individuals

Problem Although hair loss is a significant problem, research efforts in the US have been sporadic and incoherent due to lack of clinical communication and a centralized information system for collected data. Therefore, efforts for learning more about and stopping hair loss are slow and tedious.

  4. Mission Statement To create a database with a wide variety of fields that are easily sortable for a large number of records in order to allow researchers the ability of developing genotypic correlations regarding hair loss.

  8. CURRENT WORK • Developing programming skills using Microsoft Access • Implementing client questionnaire into database framework • Producing database template for advisor approval

  9. FUTURE WORK • Finalizing fields of Database • Creating password protection • Aesthetically pleasing platform • Debugging • Possible Web access
