Family GuideGrant awarded to Samantha Horsfield, School Counselor & PBIS Core Team Member at Pinewood • The family program complements the core social skills curriculum in the classroom • Provides strategies for social-emotional concerns at home: empathy, impulse control, problem-solving, and anger management • Proactive program for ensuring children have support at home and school $480.00 awarded Each grant recipient was notified with a formal letter delivered in person and in an surprise visit from the United Way

  3. Family Guide All families invited to attend the workshops. Promoted on school website, targeted calls home and through teacher recommendation. Published in Spanish to reach all families. Program goals clearly outlined for families to understand the benefit of workshop attendance Aligned with PBIS

  4. Family Guide Take home visual reminders of strategies for families Data demonstrates effectiveness Families were surveyed to determine program impact

Feeding the Soul Builds Strong CharacterGrant awarded to Jennifer Holbrook, Grade 3 Teacher & PBIS Team Leader at Pinewood • Supporting All-Pro Dads parent group • Sponsor monthly breakfast • Infused character education and PBIS materials in to content of meetings • All-Pro Dads utilized funds provided to organize an off-campus trip and morning math program $675.00 awarded Each grant recipient was recognized by Senator Negron

Create the Plate: Infuse the CurriculumGrant awarded to Jennifer Holbrook, Grade 3 Teacher & PBIS Team Leader at Pinewood • Character Counts books corner was established in the library • Book review program developed as a student incentive to read about character • Incentives like Character pencils and an opportunity to read book review on the morning news program • Program promoted on news network and in classrooms Each grant recipient was honored with a certificate from the United Way $500.00 awarded
