Emergency Services • Current Issues – • Base Camp to be established tomorrow PM at the Jr High in Hardee County (DOF) • Base Camp being established near the Lakeland LSA (USFS) • SAR primary search to be completed PM today including barrier islands • LEA establishing rotational plan with local and state agencies for personnel • Fatality count: 13 • EPA overflight showed minimal impact to hazmat facilities (Polk to Charlotte) • Unmet Needs – • Comfort needs for responders; establish better communications with local authorities • Future Operations – • Reassess current deployments; personnel replacement / backfill Up next – Human Services

Human Services • Current Issues – • 96,192 feedings provided August 13 and 14 occurring at multiple sites • Comfort stations open in the following counties: (5) Charlotte County; (2) DeSoto, (1) Polk, and (1) Hardee • Shelters still open: 21 (2200 occupancy) • Trucks with water and ice are arriving LSA #1 at Lakeland Airport • 7 trucks of food are at the LSA waiting for deployment and 120,000 meals have been delivered to various sites • Matching registered volunteers with needs in impacted areas • Developing a list of churches that will house volunteers • Establishing ongoing animal treatment and sheltering in Charlotte County • Staging resources at LSAs (1 and 2)

Human Services • Unmet Needs – • Improving communications • Lodging for volunteers • Working on obtaining various animal feeds • Generators needed to milk dairy cows • Future Operations – • Set up additional feeding locations as soon as units arrive on site • Monitor inventory of resources and re-supply as needed • Support efforts of disaster feeding organizations • Work with USDA regarding supplying of commodities • Opening a Regional Recovery Center at Tampa Fairgrounds • Teaching local agencies how to request volunteers from the Volunteer Reception Center • Working on issues as they arrive Up next – Infrastructure

Infrastructure • Current Issues – • Most state and federal highways are clear • 859,000 customers without electric service • Peace River Electric Co-op will take weeks to re-build • Fuel support to county operations • Fuel support for state public safety and response mission vehicles available at following FDOT maintenance yards: Arcadia, Bartow, Fort Myers, LaBelle, Okeechobee, and Sebring • Communications: EDICS to DeSoto and Charlotte Counties, COWs to Hardee and Charlotte Counties • Numerous radio, satellite, cell and POTs telecom requests coordinated • Unmet Needs – • Fuel delivery resources

Military Support • Current Operations – • 4,218 soldiers on State Active Duty (6223 cumulative man-days) • Logistics Staging Area Fully Operational in Lakeland (Linder Regional Airport) • 5 RECON teams are in Charlotte County • Rapid Impact Assessment Team (RAIT) and 2 Ground Support Teams • 13 Military Aircraft Available, 12 Rotary Wing, 1 Fixed Wing • National Guard Facilities Damaged: 7 • Unmet needs – • None at this time • Future Operations – • Additional forces forward deployed, ready and postured to move into effected areas to provide support as required Up next – Logistics

Finance and Administration • Current Issues – • Ordered mobile offices to be delivered to Charlotte County • Completed paperwork to hire additional Community Relations Reservists • Completed various travel arrangements • Ordered office equipment for the LSA • Unmet Needs – • Propane tanks and fuel request for the Salvation Army • Future Operations – • The next State Agency Finance Officers conference call will be held Monday, 8/16/04 at 2:00pm (850) 410-3600 • Continue to support the SEOC Up next – Public Information

Public Information • Current Issues – • Continued responses to Media inquiries • Four PIO's from the Florida Fire Chiefs Association deployed to Charlotte County • Addressing 24/7 staffing roster for the remainder of the week • Unmet Needs – • None at this time • Future Operations – • Continued deployment of PIOs to effected areas • Continued efforts to reach radio broadcast contacts to relay shelter, food, and health safety information to affected counties Up next – Recovery

Recovery • Current Issues • Supporting Recovery Operations in the impacted counties • Providing support for overall EOC operations through ARLs • Initiated debris clearance and temporary housing missions with USACE and FEMA • Unmet Needs • Need personnel through RRT and EMAC to backfill in counties and to provide support to staff • Future Operations • Gathering location and quantity information re: DRCs, feeding locations and related services • Continue to identify personnel for deployment to the field Up next – SERT Chief
