  4. Unanswered Questions • The suicide of Jess Smith left questions unanswered. • Jess Smith had an office at the Justice department. • He was the right hand man of Attorney General Harry Daugherty. • Also unfortunate murder of Edward L. Doheny Jr. and Hugh Plunkett.
