  2. 端午節 • 是中國一個傳統， 但是這個傳統為什麼會存在呢？ 為什麼我們要吃粽子呢？我們什麼時候會慶祝端午節呢？ • The Dragon Boat festival is a chinese tradition, but where did this festival come from and why is it existing? Why do we eat Rice dumplings during this time? When do you celebrate the Dragon Boat festival?

  3. 故事 • 首先， 端午節是從故事來開始。 我們有兩個故事， 第一是屈原（QūYuán）的故事，也是最多人認識的, 第二是伍子胥（WŭZĭxū） 的故事。 First of all, the Dragon Boat festival started off with stories. We have three stories that is connected to the festival, the frist one is Qu Yuan’s story, which is the one most people recognize. The second one is Wu ZiXu’s story, and the last one is a story about Cao E, however many people may not know about this one.

  4. 屈原（QūYuán） 我們為什麼要慶祝這個日子給屈原？ • 他是一個非常愛國詩人。He is minister of Chu Kingdom, 他是一個很多人會尊敬的人。 Qu Yuan is a man who loves his country, He is the Minster of Chu kingdom. He is also very well respected.

  5. 屈原的故事 • 屈原很尊重他的皇帝（the emperor）. 但是在這的時間， 楚怀王想跟 Qin Dynasty 一起聯絡 。但是屈原覺得這個不是一個好的主意。可是楚怀王沒有聽他說，他一樣想跟 Qin Dynasty一起. 當屈原想楚怀王聽他說的時間，他不但沒有聽，楚怀王趕走屈原。在他被人趕出的時間，屈原出不同的地方教書和自己寫文章。過去幾年, 楚怀王(emperor )給 (qin dynasty)打敗。因為他的皇帝已經擊敗， 屈原感覺很後悔。屈原跳進汨罗江裡面就自殺。 後來,很多人出水裡面出看看會不會找到屈原的身體， 但是沒有人找到。人民怕魚會吃他的身體，因此他們扔一點粽子希望魚不會吃屈原的身。

  6. QūYuán’s Story • Quyuan really respects his emperor, (楚怀王) however during that time, the emperor wanted to connect with the Qin dynasty no matter what. Quyuan felt that it was not a good idea, therefore he tried to persuade the emperor to not follow them. Despite his persuading, the emperor did not only listen to him, but he even made Quyuan leave. During the time Quyuan left, he went to many places around china teaching and writing his own papers. Although after a couple years,楚怀王 was actually destroyed by the Qin Dynasty. Quyuan regretted leaving his emperor and therefore he jumped into the lake (汨罗江)where he suicide.

  7. 粽子 • 就是因為人民的做法，然我們吃粽子這個傳統。我們吃粽子是紀念屈原。 • 有人說見過屈原的靈魂（spirit）說人民給他的食物（粽子）給水龍吃掉了。所以屈原叫他們包的食物在葉的裏面。 • 現在粽子有甜，鹹不同的口味

Recipe to making粽子 • 1.Have a piece of leaf for the outer of the zongzi • 2.have rice soaked in water for at least half an hour • 3. spread the soaked rice on top of the leaf • 4. have the food you would like inside the zongzi and put it towards the middle ex. Meat, red beans etc • 5.tie the corners of the leaf together with a string • 6. boil the zongzi for at least an hour and a half.

  9. 農曆 • 我們在農曆五月五日慶祝端午節 • 今年的端午節是在六月六日，二零一一年 We celebrate Duanwujie on the fifth month and fifth day on the lunar calendar This years Dragon boat festival is on June 6, 2011

  10. 龍舟 • 龍舟是一條長長的船 • 這個大船大概可以載二十多人 • 在鼓聲中一起用漿划水 • 在屈原的故事，龍舟是用來找他。 • 過了很多年，我們一樣保護這個傳統。 用來紀念他.
