Present Continuous. Present Continuous. We u se the Present Continuous : For actions taking place now , at the moment of speaking . ( I’m learning now .) For temporary actions ; that is action that are going on around now , but not at the actual moment of speaking .

PresentContinuous We use the Present Continuous: • For actionstaking place now, at the moment of speaking. • (I’m learning now.) • For temporaryactions; thatisactionthataregoing on aroundnow, but not at the actual moment of speaking. • (I’mlooking for a jobthesedays.) • With adverbssuch as: always, constlanty, continually, etc. For actionswhichhappenveryoften, usually to express annoyance, irritationoranger. • I’malwaysmeeting Alex when I go shopping • You’reconstantlyinterrupting me whenI’mtalking. • For changingor developing situations. • More and morespeciesarebecomingextinct.

  3. AffirmativeSentences • When we want to make an affirmative sentence in Present Continuouswe use: • ”to be” • and an adjective with ~ing. • You are watching TV. • She is singing. • I am speaking English

  4. NegativeSentences • When we want to makenegativesentences in PresentContinuous we use: • ”to be” + NOT • and anadjectivewith ~ing. • Youarenot (aren’t) watchingTV! • Sheisnot (isn’t) singing! • I amnotspeakingEnglish!

  5. InterrogativeSentences • When we want to makeinterrogativesentences in PresentContinuous we useinversion: • Am/is/are - (I/you/he/she/it/we/they) • and anadjecwiwe with ~ing. • Areyouwatching TV? • Isshesinging? • Am I speakingEnglish?

  6. REMEMBER !!! The Present Continuous is used with the following time expression: now, at the moment, at present, these days, still, nowadays, today, tonight, ect.
