Challenges • Can we work within the limits of our resources (e.g., intellectual, creative, financial) to reduce our impact on the environment and to promote the sustainability of our community? • Can we Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover? • Can we incorporate these principles into our approaches to teaching, research and administration?

  7. Some New Initiatives: 2007-2009 City Commitments • Limit idling by fleet and visitors’ vehicles • Improve infrastructure to increase bicycle use • Encourage sustainable transportation • Develop a McGill purchasing policy for acquisition and maintenance of new vehicles • Promote University’s commitment to proper waste management with staff and suppliers • Landscape the campus with a focus on biodiversity • Participate in two events (e.g. car free day, waste reduction week, etc.)
