Laws that Guide The DP

By Law you have only 60 days to comment on DP!!

  • Guided by the Maharashtra Region and Town Planning Act of 1966, commonly known as the MR&TP act

  • The DP has to be revised minimum every 20 years

  • The last DP part was sanctioned in the year 1994

  • New DP will be enforced from 2014 and will be in force till 2034

  • EOI date 26th June 2009

We want to make this process as Public Participatory as possible!!

  • The Development Plan(Maps and a Report on the Development Plan)

  • Development Control Regulations Commonly referred to as the DCRs

  • Reservation Document giving the various reservations ward wise

What DP could have

  • Layers of development control maps and regulations for various issues in the city

  • Proper zoning and sub-division plan

  • Implementation Strategies for prescribed development in the DP

  • Development Control Regulations for all layers of the city fabric

    • Should not circumvent the development control guidelines by giving executive powers to bureaucracy
