  1. NHG Eye Institute Ophthalmic Microsurgical Course 16 & 17 Sep 2011, Fri & Sat INTRODUCTION The NHG Eye Institute Ophthalmic Microsurgical Course will be held on 16 and 17 Sep 2011. This course is aimed at meeting the needs of the junior eye surgeon, especially the 1st and 2nd year Basic Ophthalmic Trainees. Lectures on basic microsurgical techniques as well as an introduction to the operating microscope will be given before participants are given hands-on opportunities to practise techniques in suturing, extracapsular cataract extraction and phacoemulsification. The small participant-to-tutor ratio will ensure that all participants have plenty of practice. A certificate of attendance will be given to all participants. CME accreditation points will be awarded by the Singapore Medical Council.
