  2. Morality • Morality refers to people’s values, what they view as right or wrong. • Generally laws reflect the values that the majority of society share and hold. • However, sometimes laws and morals may clash and be controversial.

  3. Examples include: Abortion Death Penalty Euthanasia Same Sex Marriages Legalization of Marijuana Pornography Physical Disciplining Children Censorship Animals Rights Cloning Sunday Hunting/Fishing Gun Control Others…? Laws and morals that clash!

  4. Conflicting laws & morals What if laws conflict with ones morals? • In Canada, if you do not share these moral values, you must still abide by the law • BUT you do have the freedom to speak out against it • AND try to influence the changing of the law. • In Canada, laws do change!
