Varicoceles: Varicoceles are distended veins in the scrotum which can lead to complications with normal sperm production. It is one of the most common causes of male infertility. In view of the fact that sperm requires an optimal temperature to develop normally, any fluctuation can cause abnormalities. They have been linked to low sperm count, sperm morphology and spermquality. Retrogradeejaculation: Problems with ejaculation can prevent conception. Retrograde ejaculation, also recognized as dry ejaculation, occurs when semen enters the bladder through orgasm instead of coming out of the penis. There are numerous factors which can account to retrograde ejaculation including damage to the spinal cord, previous surgical procedures and diabetes. Tubalissues: Sperm travels through various tubes before it finally exits the penis at the time of ejaculation. If any of these tubes are blocked, it may lead to low sperm count and as a consequence, infertility. Deformities or a total absence of the vas deferens is one of the foremost reasons for sperm blockage and can be a congenital disability or due to physical trauma. Other tubules which might cause blockages include the epididymis, the urethra and the ejaculatory ducts. Previous surgeries, infections and cysts are some of the common reasons for abnormalities within thetubules. Existing medicalconditions: An existing medical condition will can cause infertility in men. These comprise of trauma, infection or some other testicular problem, but might also include serious conditions like diabetes and cystic fibrosis. Moreover, diseases like cancer that require radiation and/or chemotherapy treatment can also lead toinfertility. Lifestyle: Heavy alcohol use, smoking, drugs, and the usage of anabolic steroids are all among the chief reasons accounting to maninfertility. Environmentaltoxins: Certain aspects of the environment also contribute to infertility in men. This includes exposure to toxic substances like pesticides andlead.

Ovulation: Any irregularities within the ovaries disrupt the fertility of an otherwise healthy woman. Polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS): One particular ailment that can cause irregular ovulation is PCOS, the most common cause of female infertility. Caused by a hormonal imbalance, this disorder enlarges the ovaries leading to the development of small cysts on theovaries. Tubalpatency: The fallopian tubes are an essential part of a woman’s reproductive system, and in case of blockage or swelling it can drastically affect a woman’s chances ofconceiving. Endometriosis: Endometriosis affects a woman’s ovaries, fallopian tubes and pelvic tissue, and abnormal bands of tissue including cysts can develop on the organs responsible forconception.
