  1. Adobe Flash Activity 2-Flying Ball Edcp 447 Session 4

  2. Background • Workspace: Designer • File save as “flying ball” • Stage Property • Size edit: 600 x 400px • Background color

  3. Earth image edit • File>import to the Library>earth image>drag and drop in the Stage • Select “Free Transform Tool” on the Tools menu • Right click to “Break Apart” the image to edit (Now, the image property has been changed into “Shape” from “Bitmap”)

  4. Use “Eraser” to remove dark part • Select the dark part and delete it • Resize it and place it at the bottom • Double-click “Layer1” to change the layer name into “earth” • Right click to convert the edited image “new_earth” • Lock it on the layer

  5. Edit an airplane • Import airplane picture • Create folder in the Library to organize clips • Click on the left bottom icon to create a new layer • Rename the Layer 2 into “airplane” by double-clicking the highlighted part

  6. Resize the airplane • Right click to Set Apart for editing the image • Click “Lasso Tool” to cut out the plane • Convert the new plane to save into the Library • Lock it in the timeline

  7. Draw a ball • Hide the airplane to have a larger stage to work on drawing a ball • Add a new layer and double-click to name it as “ball” • Select “Oval Tool” • Change fill and stroke to choose color • Select “pencil tool” to draw lines on the ball • Convert it to save in the New picture folder in the Library • View all the pictures on the stage to resize the balll

  8. Add a hole on the earth • Create a new layer to name “hole” • Import a picture of hole in the stage • Edit it and convert it as a new hole • Arrange the pictures on the layer • Lower layer to send it to the back • Upper layer to send it to the front

  9. Setting up timeline for animation • Earth: Click 65 frame on which right click to select “Insert Frame” • Plane: • Click frame 1 and plane • Click frame 60 and right click on “Insert Key Frame” • Click in between the timeframe and right click to “Create Classic Tween”

  10. Falling Ball for animation 1. Add a new layer for “ball_path”

  11. Hole appears • Unlock “hole” layer • Hold down the keyframe in the frame 1 to drag to move it to the frame 50 (The frame 1 becomes Blank Keyframe and the frame 50 becomes the Keyframe.) • Insert frame to the frame 60.

  12. Add Sound • Add a new layer and select it • Import an audio clip • Click the frame where the sound starts • Right click to add “Insert Keyframe” • Drag the file to the stage while the keyframe is being selected. • Control & Enter to play the clip • Adjust FPS to play slowly (eg. FPS 24 to 10) • Save the file
