  4. BIG TEXT AROUND 450 B.C., THE GREEK PHILOSOPHER DEMOCRITUS INTRODUCED THE IDEA OF THE ATOM. AROUND 1800, A BRITISH CHEMIST NAMED JOHN DALTON REVIVED DEMOCRITUS’S EARLY IDEAS ABOUT THE ATOM. ELECTRONS WERE DISCOVERED IN 1897 BY A BRITISH PHYSICIST NAMED J. J. THOMSON. IN 1899, RUTHERFORD DISCOVERED NUCLEUS AND PROTONS. NIELS HENRIK DAVID BOHR WAS A DANISH PHYSICIST WHO MADE FOUNDATIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO UNDERSTANDING ATOMIC STRUCTURE AND QUANTUM THEORY.

BIG TEXT NIELS HENRIK DAVID BOHR 7 OCTOBER 1885 –18 NOVEMBER 1962 WAS A DANISH PHYSICIST WHO MADE FOUNDATIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO UNDERSTANDING ATOMIC STRUCTURE AND QUANTUM THEORY, FOR WHICH HE RECEIVED THE NOBEL PRIZE IN PHYSICS IN 1922. BOHR WAS ALSO A PHILOSOPHER AND A PROMOTER OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH. HE ALSO EXPLAINED EMISSION AND ABSORPTION OF RADIATION AS TRANSITIONS BETWEEN STATIONARY ELECTRONIC STATES IN WHICH THE ELECTRON ORBITS ,THE NEUCLEUS AT A DEFINITE.
