  1. Jealousy

  2. Two of a Kind – Focused on God! • JONATHAN (1 Samuel 14:6) Jonathan said to his young armor-bearer, "Come, let's go over to the outpost of those uncircumcised fellows. Perhaps the LORD will act in our behalf. Nothing can hinder the LORD from saving, whether by many or by few." • DAVID (1 Samuel 17:45) David said to the Philistine, "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

  3. The evil of envy • (Romans 1:29) They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. • (Galatians 5:20-21) …idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions {21} and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. • (James 3:16) For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. • The opposite of envy is love (1 Corinthians 13:4) Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

  4. Addressing our Jealousy • GOD – Humbly submit to God’s authority. • He controls all things – so others may have it better. • He deserves all praise – so I don’t. • ME – Admit, confess and repent of jealousy. • It’s sin. Then accept God’s grace. • ME – Deal with my own insecurity. • Always review that my significance is God's love for me • Thankfully review that all I have is by God’s grace • OTHERS – See people like God does • Praise God for the successes of others. • Affirm/encourage those with the success you long for.
