Operating budget The difference between the revenue generated for an entire season and the total salaries of the athletes: $101,106,082 – $71,379,000= $29,727,082 Three factors that affect the operating budget are: Positive – A lot of people coming to watch the home game – They win games and championships – Playoffs that will earn the arena money Negative – No one comes to watch the home game – The team plays badly and loses – Pay for living expenses when the team plays games overseas A team can lose money if they play badly and lose or if no one likes their team.
