in basic or clinical sciences

K08->K02-> R01 “conversion”

Must apply within 3 years of clinical

Training (residency +1 year of clinical fellowship)

VERY Institute-specific:

$75,000- $100,000 salary + fringe

$20-$50,000 research costs per year

up to five years, non-renewable

    • Write grant year 3

    • Advisory committee meet ea six mos


  • Protected time insured by Chair!

  • -Do not assume that 75% means anything

  • except 75% of your total working hours

  • -These estimates are carefully reviewed

  • -Release time not contingent on receipt

  • of the grant
