  1. What is Hot Melting? Hot melt is a kind of membrane that is applied in the form of hot liquid directly put on a prepared structural deck in order to create a seamless and monolithic layer. It can be used a waterproofing layer for all kinds of new building, flat roofing application covered by suitable layer of protection.

  2. The most common of the application of the hot melt is at the inverted roof system where this membrane is being laid directly on the deck and the insulation is laid on the top. This weighs down with the ballistic material like gravels of slabs. Hot melt roofing have numerous benefits apart from that they can be completely flat.

  3. Designing a completely Flat Roof If you wish to have a completely flat roof that has a fall to ensure good drainage then also Hot Melt Roofing sare ideal for you. However, you need to decide in advance why you want to have a completely flat roof. Most of the waterproofing systems require a least minimal fall in order to comply with the codes of best practices. However, with melts, no falls are needed and your roof deck can be completely flat. This can be particularly useful when planning considerations restrict building heights.

  4. Complex Roof Layout and Penetrations If your new flat roof hosts a complex layout where falls are difficult to implement or if you require installing HVAC equipments then hot melts can simplify such installation. For instance, installing a roof top plan is often problematic due to the risk of cold bridging. Removing any chance of cold bridging requires placing the plant completely outside the insulation system.

  5. Designing a Flat Roof with longer life span The membrane of inverted roof are covered and thus, protected from element like footfall or mechanical damage throughout life. With hot melts, the membranes are fully adhered to the deck so that even if becomes damaged, water cannot migrate between roof structures and roof membrane and repairs are relatively uncomplicated.

  6. Some Important Point • Hot melt roof installations should essentially be carried out by certified contractor or experienced engineer. • The structural deck must be capable of supporting the weight load of the inverted roof system • The roof must be designed such that it incorporates overflow, adequate drainage and also • consider the thermal requirements as well as wind condition. • The waterproofing system must be essentially tested for any damage before installing insulation and loading coats.
