  8. I. Biux Mengh Waac. Introduction Ih hnoi, Ging-Sou gorngv taux Yesu zoux Njoux Ziouv, yaac zoux Ziouv, (1:19-28). Mbuo oix mangc taux naaiv deix i diuc jauv dongh tengx mienh jiex wuom nyei leiz wuov dauh Yo^han gorngv nyei zorng-zengx waac. To day, Bible speaks of Jesus the Messiah, and the Lord (1:19-28). We are going to look at this two thing that John the Baptist witness.

  9. 1. Yesu benx ziangh jienv nyei Doz: Da’yietv norm Yo^han Gong-Zoh nyei Zorng-Zengx , (1:1-5). Jesus the Living Word: The First Witness of John the Apostle, 1:1-5. 2. Yesu se zoux Baamh Gen nyei Njang: Lengc Jeiv tengx mienh jiex wuom nyei leiz wuov dauh Yo^han nyei Zorng-Zengx, (1:6-8). Jesus the Light of the World: The Special Witness of John the Baptist,(1:6-8).

  10. 3. Yesu se zoux baamh mienh nyei Njang: Da’nyeic norm Yo^han Gong-Zoh nyei Zorng-Zengx, (1:9-13). Jesus the Light of Men: The Second Witness of John the Apostle, (1:9-13). 4. 11. I. YIE SE MAIV ZEIZ GIDUC. I AM NOT THE CHRIST A. NINH NYEI ZORNG-ZENGX WAAC SE GORNGV TAUX NINH GANH NYEI JAUV. HIS TESTIMONY ABOUT HIMSELF: 1. Ninh nyiemc gorngv ninh se maiv zeiz Giduc. He confessed he was not the Christ (Yo^han John 1:19-20). (a) Maaih mienh camv nyei oix laengz gorngv ninh mbuo se benx Giduc wuov dauh. Many people wondered if he were the Christ (Lugaa Luke 3:15). (b) Mv baac Yo^han mengh-mengh nyei gorngv ninh se maiv zeiz Giduc. But John clearly asserts that he was not the Christ.

  12. 2. Ninh yaac maiv zeiz E^li^yaa douc waac fai hnangv zinh ndaangc gorngv jiex dauh wuov dauh Maa^laa^ki douc waac mienh. He was not literally Elijah as foretold by Malachi (Yo^han John 1:21a). Some thought Elijah would return in person, which John denies (Malachi 4:5).

  13. (b) Yo^han duqv zoux ziangx ei zinh hoz waac nyei jauv, se benx waac-ormv nyei jauv. John did fulfill the prophecy, which was figurative: (c) Se hnangv Gaa^mbe^lien fin-mienh gorngv nyei waac nor. As foretold by the angel Gabriel (Lugaa Luke 1:l7). (d) Hnangv Yesu ganh gorngv nor. As testified by Jesus (Matv^taai Matthew 11:11-15; 17:10-13).

  15. (b) Maaih mienh camv nyei zuov jienv fai mangc jienv oix buatc naaiv dauh douc waac mienh daaih. Many people were anticipating the arrival of this Prophet (Yo^han John 6:14; 7:40). (c) Zien sic se naaiv dauh douc waac mienh benx Yesu, se maiv zeiz Yo^han. This Prophet was indeed Jesus, not John (Gong-Zoh Acts 3:22-26).

  16. 4. Ninh se dongh I^saa^yaa douc nyei zinh hoz waac. He was the one foretold by Isaiah (Yo^han John 1:22-23). (a) Maaih dauh mienh yiem deic-bung huaang heuc jienv gorngv. 18. 2. Benx gan Giduc nyei mienh, mbuo nyei gong yaac fih hnangv nyei, hnangv ninh nor mingh ndaangc douc waac. As followers of Christ, our task is similar to his role as forerunner: (a) Mbuo oix simv jienv maiv dungx lorz ganh nyei mengh dauh, oix zuqc dorh mienh mingh lorz Giduc! To deflect attention away from ourselves, and point people to Christ! (b) Mbuo oix zuqc maiv dungx la’kuqv, maiv gunv duqv mienh taaih ndongc haaix camv yaac, mbuo maiv zeiz Giduc!
