Sample • 8 committees included in this trend analysis • Accreditation Coordination Committee • College Council • IAEPC • Institutional Effectiveness Committee • Professional Development Advisory Committee • Student Services Planning Council • Student Success and Enrollment Committee • Technology Committee Still need Action Plans from 5 more committees

  3. Trends • Most committees indicated action plans to improve three areas: • Communication • Internal • External • Review of Mission and Goals • Membership

  4. Communication Action items include: • Internal Communication • Actively engage members • Establish protocol to ensure full participation • Create structured opportunities for member communication and feedback • Distribute and adhere to regular meetings/agendas/minutes • External Communication • Require members to report out to their constituents • Communicate results/accomplishments to other committees and the campus as a whole • Clarify committee’s role to others • Better branding and awareness of committee • Use various tools to communication • E.g., More effective portal sites • Relates to Factors: results/achievements, ownership/morale, Focus, Communication (Internal), Communication (External), team/group processes

  5. Review Mission & Goals • Almost all committees planned to review their missions and goals. Action items include: • Review mission for more understanding and clarity on purpose of committee • Clarify goals and tasks for the committee as a whole, as well as for individual members • Make sure committee is addressing campus issues and meeting constituents’ needs • Display mission and goals on several mediums • E.g., agenda and/or portal site • Relates to Factors: results/achievements, ownership/morale, focus, leadership sharing, team/group processes, structure, leadership support

  6. Membership • Several committees planned to review membership in their committees. Action items include: • Make sure it is understood who is on the committee and why, as well as, how the person was chosen • Include more diverse members, including more classified staff and faculty members • Make sure current vacancies of filled • Ask current members to personally recruit new members if no one volunteers • Relates to Factors: Focus, team/group processes, Structure
