  2. The presentation will include: • The benefits and challenges of workplace diversity. • How to be a role model for others in order to show respect for workplace diversity. • The importance and benefits of the coaching and training related to diversity issues in the workplace • Conclusion

  3. The advantages: • 1. Food and beverage in Australia draws from a wide variety of cultures. Therefore a mixture of employees is desirable, as they can contribute new ideas and concepts. 2. Potential benefits of this diversity also include better decision making, higher creativity and innovation.

  4. The challenges: 1.Not all people in organizations value diversity. 2. Language or pronunciation. • 3. Different people associated with different cultures & religious.

  5. Some ways to be a role model for others in order to show respect for workplace diversity “Being a leader, is not about ability, is about responsibility”. • Set a good example by respecting the cultural diversity in the workplace, then your employees will follow suit. • Understand and respect different cultures and backgrounds. • Getting to know each and every member of your staff. • Try asking general questions that apply to the situation at hand. • Make new staff feel welcome.

The importance and benefits of the coaching and training related to diversity issues in the workplace • Setting a good example • Communicate in writing- internal broadcasting of the diversity message in order to create a common language for all members of the workplace. • Training programs—The training programs provide more specific information on cultural norms of different groups and how they may affect work behaviour. • Recognize individual differences • Make room for social events • Flexible work environment

  7. Conclusion: We are based in a multicultural environment so we should use this as an advantage rather than focussing on any negative aspects. As the diversity is played to its strengths the benefits should outweigh the challenges associated with the range of cultures.
