  1. Heart of Darkness Wrap-around Acrostic Matteson AP Lit.

  2. The broken Kite Longed to soAr faRaway Perhaps Into The Mountains Or Across the Sea BUT The kite laid QuiEtlyforgotten In the cloSet alOneand Neglected

  3. Wrap Around Acrostic • Notice how my poem has Kari Matteson down through the middle? You are going to do the same thing with the words Heart of Darkness • Your poem must have some thematic connection to the text. You could discuss relationships, nature, the need to escape, neglectful parents, not fitting in etc… • On your paper, place Heart of Darkness vertically down the center of your paper. You will create a wrap-around acrostic. In other words, most lines should consist of at least 10 words, and the letter from the title does not have to be the first letter of the line.
