Melody • Melody- 11 year old Melody is a girl who can not feed her self walk talk or write she can barley hold up a pencil when she is five she goes to a doctor who runs a test to see if she is smart enough to go to a regular school even know she is very smart the doctor told her mother that she disabled and gives her a couple choices to send her to a nursing home to keep her home or to send her to a disabled school but her mom gets very mad and storms out. When she gets to the disabled school she learns the same thing over and over. Read the book to find out what happens to Melody.
Mom • Mom- The mom is a very supportive family member she will help melody when ever she needs it. She made a bored with numbers, letters and simple words and sententious like can I have or can I go to the bathroom it had words like yes ,no, please, thank you so she can communicate like every else can. When they were at the doctors she got very mad because the doctor said that she is disabled.
Mrs. V • Mrs. V- Mrs. V is Melody's neighbor when she was little she baby sited Melody she was the first one to she her crawl and flip over. When she got older she went Mrs. V house every day. They did stuff like flash cards and spelling and ate there. One day they were watching TV when they saw a man called Stephen Hawking he is just like Melody he cant walk or talk but he a device that let him talk he is very smart like her Melody points and nods at the TV. Mrs. V ask would you rather talk or walk and she said talk.
