  6. Act 2 Vocabulary Recycled Words! • Impotence—lacking physical strength or power • Brevity—concise; terse • Epitaph—a phrase or statement written in memory of a person, esp. on a tombstone. • Repugnant—offensive, disagreeable, distasteful

  7. Reviewing Act 2 • In groups (no more than 4), review every question from Act 2. • Try and tackle the difficult questions on your own, but, if you are all confused, we will discuss them AS A CLASS after you have tried to answer them. • Every question must have evidence!

  8. Characterizing Hamlet • Create a visual poster. • Use three DIFFERENT character traits to describe him. • Base this in evidence – write that on your poster and explain HOW it does shows that trait. • Compare him to a character we know today (from modern literature or media) • Everyone will complete their own. If you do not finish, it is for homework! Suggestions for where to look: Talks with King Claudius and his mother Talks with ghost Talks with R&G

  9. Begin the search for literary devices! • Refer to devices we learned in the poetry unit and devices you’ve learned since…umm…1st grade?
