  3. Target Group selected based on following data Students with overall attendance between 70% and 79% in the month of September

  4. National StandardAcademic Standard A Students will acquire the attitudes, knowledge and skills that contribute to effective learning in school and across the life span

  6. Attendance Counseling Sessions 10 weeks:Daily individual counseling sessions with the students - Goal Setting -Review of daily progress reports - Attendance performance contract

  9. Results • 66% of 10th and 11th grade students in our sample improved their attendance from October to January. • On Average, 10th and 11th grade attendance went up 11% from October to January.

  10. Results • 75% of 12th grade students in our sample improved their attendance from October to January. • On Average, 12th grade attendance went up 2% from October to January.

  11. Results • Among the seven targeted GED students, 66% showed improvement in their attendance from October to January. • However, the overall percentage among GED students decreased by one percent.

  13. Implications • Attendance improved on average among targeted population • It was more successful among diploma students than GED students • Next year we may need to start interventions earlier • Look into the impact the intervention has on class completion
