  3. Behold the Lamb of God • Lamb of God Lamb of God is a term used typically of Christ as the Sin-bearer of the world (John 1:29, 36; Acts 8:32; 1Peter 1:19). Lamb was a term used to describe the redemption to be brought by the long-awaited Messiah (Isaiah 53:7)

  4. Behold the Lamb of God • Easter Originally a sax word (eoster), denoting a goddess of the Saxons, in honor of whom sacrifices were offered about the time of the Passover. Hence the name came to be given to the festival of the resurrection of Christ, which occurred at the time of the Passover. In the early English versions this word was frequently used as the translation of the Greek, pascha (the Passover).
