Oregon State Police Albany Area Command PATROL SERVICES DIVISION Primary Enforcement Programs: Primary enforcement programs are designed to assist motorists in transiting Oregon´s highways safely and without incident. Hazardous Violation Enforcement (Collision-causing traffic violations) Impaired Diving Enforcement ( Intoxicated and/or drugged drivers)

Oregon State Police Albany Area Command • PATROL SERVICES DIVISION • Occupant Safety Enforcement (Seat belt and child restraint laws) • Commercial Vehicle Driving Enforcement (Motor trucks) • Work zone Enforcement (work zone safety) • At Risk Juvenile Behavior (Deter and detect juvenile crime) • Criminal Apprehension through Patrol Enforcement (The apprehension of wanted subjects and contraband in vehicles traveling on the states’ highways)

Oregon State Police • Primary Support Programs: • Collision Reconstruction Program (scientific analysis of traffic crashes for criminal prosecution and civil litigation) • Drug Detection Canine Program (Canines helping detect illegal drugs and other evidence on our highways and in communities) • Drug Recognition Evaluator Program (standardized systematic examination of a person suspected of being under the influence of a drug, for the purpose of ascertaining what category of drugs or combination of categories is causing the person's impairment)

Oregon State Police Albany Area Command • CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DIVISION • The purpose of the Division is to provide specialized investigative services in support of criminal justice agencies statewide through innovative programs and highly trained, dedicated personnel.  Our goal is to provide an exceptional level of investigative support and expertise to local and federal law enforcement agencies in this state. • Major Crimes Section Detectives participate in 29 interagency major crime teams and 36 multi-disciplinary child sex abuse teams.

Oregon State Police Albany Area Command • CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DIVISION • The purpose of the Division is to provide specialized investigative services in support of criminal justice agencies statewide through innovative programs and highly trained, dedicated personnel.  Our goal is to provide an exceptional level of investigative support and expertise to local and federal law enforcement agencies in this state. • Major Crimes Section Detectives participate in 29 interagency major crime teams and 36 multi-disciplinary child sex abuse teams.

Oregon State Police Albany Area Command • FISH & WILDLIFE DIVISION • The primary responsibility of the Fish and Wildlife Division is enforcement of fish, wildlife, and commercial fishing laws and protection of natural resources.  The members of the Fish and Wildlife Division also enforce traffic, criminal, boating, livestock and environmental protection laws in addition to responding to emergency situations.

Oregon State Police Albany Area Command • FISH & WILDLIFE DIVISION • Patrol is a vital part of the Fish and Wildlife trooper's work.  In addition to the protection of people and property, the purpose of patrol is to detect and apprehend violators, to deter those who may be inclined to violate natural resource laws, and to be alert for any adverse or detrimental occurrences that may affect the environment.

Oregon State Police Albany Area Command • AMBER ALERT PROGRAM • The AMBER Alert Plan is a critical missing child response program that utilizes the resources of law enforcement and media to notify the public when children are kidnapped. Statistics show that time is our greatest adversary when a child has been abducted. • The AMBER Alert Plan is a voluntary partnership between law enforcement agencies and broadcasters to disseminate an urgent bulletin in the most serious child abduction cases.

Oregon State Police Albany Area Command • IDENTIFICATION SERVICES SECTION • The Computerized Criminal History unit is responsible for maintaining criminal history information through LEDS (Law Enforcement Data System). The computerized criminal history is established based on fingerprints and includes arrest information, court information, and custody information received from the Department of Corrections. Law enforcement agencies are required by statute to submit a fingerprint card to ISS for all felony crimes as well as all sex and drug misdemeanor crimes.

Oregon State Police • FORENSIC SERVICES DIVISION • The Forensic Services Division is a nationally accredited forensic laboratory system serving all state and local law enforcement agencies, medical examiners and prosecuting attorneys in Oregon. The Division also performs forensic analysis on criminal cases for the defense upon a court order.

  16. Oregon State Police • FORENSIC SERVICES DIVISION The Forensic Services Division provides Oregon's only full service forensic laboratory system. Our analysts provide technical assistance and training, evaluate and analyze evidence, interpret results, and provide expert testimony related to the full spectrum of physical evidence recovered from crime scenes.
