  1. The Road To SuccessGame By Diana Lorenzana

  2. What Is That Road? • To be successful in college, you need to drive on a road with difficult situations including financial problems and sometimes personal ones. These are distractions that would put you off the road to graduation. • This game was created by Mrs. Lorenzana to let you know the different situations that a college student confronts on that road. • Look for the warnings signs ahead and enjoy the ride. • College is a great experience that happens mostly only once in your lifetime.

  3. Warnings • Watch out for the sun’s glare in your eyes: slow down, probation ahead!

  4. What Is Probation? • Students with low GPA can be at risk for probation if the GPA goes below the specific minimum GPA as shown below: • 1-29 hours 1.70 GPA • 30-59 hours 1.90 GPA • 60 or more 2.00 GPA • The sun light can blind you, and you can not see the problems or warnings ahead: slow down!

  5. Probation 1 • If you go below the required GPA, you are going to be on probation for the first time. You can only take 9 hours the following semester. • If you crash the car in the fence or a tree during the game, you are on Probation One. • Warning Probation One

  6. Suspension • If you are on Probation One now and your GPA continues to be lower than the minimum requirement, you are going to be on Suspension. Watch out for the cones in the game. • Avoid them, but if you crash with any of the cones you are on Suspension now.

  7. Suspension • If you are on Suspension, that means that you cannot register for classes at UHD. You need to write an appeal for readmission with an Academic Advisor or be out one semester and go to another school and return the next semester. • Out of the Game Try Again • If you are able to get out of all these problems during the game, go to the left and take the dusty road jump over the ramp.

  8. The End of the Road • Congratulations! You are on your way to graduation. • Enjoy the game. Remember graduation is more that a game; it is the culmination of all your choices, efforts and perseverance.
