  5. When next day on CD-Rs is not good enough • Students needs for accessing materials more quickly • Requirement for more modern distribution methods. • Distribution of current information (newspapers etc)

  6. The Procurement • Process started: Spring 2009 • New solution established : June 2010 • Public Bid • Solution based on partnership between commercial suppliers/NLB

New distribution solution • Establish an technical architecture that satisfies present and future requirements • Present CD-distribution, Online distribution, DAISY online • Format independently (DAISY, textfiles etc) • Playback tools (DAISY, mp3-players, cell phone) • Integration of on-demand production facilities • Nordic cooperation

  14. Corporation model Norwegian Universities and NLB Goal: Improve the service to students by cooperation and sharing of work Universities responsible for accessibility. Limitations in NLBs service: • Reading disabled not production right at NLB • Limitations in what NLB produce (articles)
