  4. Opportunities • Strategic Planning • CSWE reaffirmation • Fully integrated program • Serve as a feeder into the Gerontology Specialization within the University

  5. Gerontology Track • Increase competencies in aging • Increase recruitment of students in aging • Offer educational-career planning for each student • Further integration of aging competencies into coursework

  6. Possible Design • Create a two year track where in the first year, students will be rotated through county, regional and State organizations • Year two would be based on a defined project that would be developed with field instructor and College during year one • The students would go 6 quarters consecutively

  7. Moving Forward • Recruiting more social work students into the field of Aging • Looking at a rotational model that includes micro, mezzo, and macro practice • Increasing competencies for all social work students who are specializing in gerontology
