  1. Journal 9/6/13 Start thinking about how you could make your own logic puzzle. What kind of stuff do you need to set up beforehand? Are there any patterns to the rules you'd have to give to the people solving it? What changes would make the puzzle easier or harder? Objective Tonight’s Homework To find patterns in logic puzzles Finish creating your own logic puzzle

  2. Looking for Patterns in Logic Puzzles Look at the logic puzzles we've done so far. How does the number of clues you get relate to how many things the puzzle has? We want to solve the question above. Obviously, the more clues you give, the easier the puzzle will be. But it’s also possible to go the other way. The less clues we have, the harder it gets. But if we have too few clues, the puzzle will be impossible. So take a look at the puzzles on your handout. What’s the minimum number of clues you need for each? How does this relate to how many things you’re figuring out? What kinds of clues are these? Find out everything you can!

  3. Making Your Own Logic Puzzle Your job for the rest of class and for homework is to create your own logic puzzle. Try to make your puzzle fairly hard. Don’t just write down all the information straight up. If you do, you’ll get a poor grade on this. It should be like the ones we’ve been doing.

  4. Exit Question #10 Is there a pattern to number of clues vs number of things being combined? What is it? a) Each box on the grid must have 1 clue b) For each type of thing there is one clue c) For each type of thing there are 2 clues d) The puzzle always has 4 clues, no matter what e) Everything has to be mentioned directly at least once f) There is no definite pattern
