Increase enrollment in career pathways/clusters Increase participation in Georgia Work Ready • Increase enrollment in AP; use AP Potential. • Increase enrollment in 4th science/math courses. 6. Share & analyze school data, esp. PSAT,ACT, SAT,AP Collaborate about data trends & program updates .

  6. What is college and career readiness? College and Career readiness is the level of achievement required for students to enroll in two or four year schools without remediation and to be prepared for college-level work or successful entry into the workforce.

  8. College and Career Readiness “Many high school graduates do not have all of the skills they need to succeed in college-level coursework or workforce training. Research indicates that the skills required for workforce training beyond high school are the same as those expected of a first-year college student. Review of Definitions • Career cluster – organizer of knowledge and skills needed by a broad industry for the purpose of organizing educational programs and curricula • Career pathway – organizer of knowledge and skills statements shared by professions • Program of study – comprehensive, structured approach for delivering academic and career and technical education to prepare students for postsecondary education and career success.

  15. Career Pathway A career pathway is a coherent, articulated sequence of rigorous academic and career/technical courses, usually beginning in the 9th grade and leading to a high school diploma, associate degree, baccalaureate degree and beyond.

  16. Increase participation in Georgia Work Ready Work Ready certificates at Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum levels are based on ACT’s WorkKeys ® Job skills assessments in 1. Applied Mathematics 2. Locating Information 3. Reading for Information Work habit assessments include work-related attitudes and behaviors such as carefulness, cooperation , discipline, and drive. Why should students, parents, and educators care about these tests? All students enter the workforce eventually!
