  • “carrier” = has the gene, but doesn’t show the trait

  • Colorblindness (b) is a recessive, X-linked trait

    • XBY = Normal Male

    • XBXB = Normal female

    • XBXb = Carrier female

    • XbXb = colorblind female

    • XbY = colorblind male

    • Males cannot be carriers for X-linked traits. Think about why this is true.
