NETBALL SOUTH AFRICA INTRODUCTION • One of Netball South Africa’s priorities is to transform, develop and promote the quality of netball in South Africa and to ensure that all stakeholders are represented at national in respective of their gender, race, religion, culture and economic background. • Netball South Africa is the number one woman in Sports organization of which its primary role is to administer and develop netball from grass roots level to elite level and ensure mass participation to all races.Netball south Africa operates with 38 affiliated regional structures and 7 associates members of which schools is one.

  11. SCHOOL LEAGUE STRUCTURE THE COMPETITION – CONCEPT AND STRUCTURE • It involves 29000 Secondary Schools (4 450 000 players) from the lowest level culminating in a National event. (u/11; u/12; u/13; u/14; u/15; u/15; u/17; u/19) • STAGE 1 – AREA LEVEL • Schools play inter School leagues • STAGE 2 – DISTRICT LEVEL • The winning schools (merit & development) from each pool progress to this level. • A sum of 60 District Championships are played around the country, with a minimum of 24 schools participating in each

SCHOOL LEAGUE STRUCTURE – CONT. • STAGE 3 – PROVINCIAL LEVEL • District winners within a province compete to find the provincial winners in each age group. • STAGE 4 – NATIONAL LEVEL • This will be the final stage of the competition. • It is a two (2) day Tournament involving the two (2) winning Schools from each province per age group. • STAGE 5 – INTERNATIONAL LEVEL • There are various competitions that we can enter . • SASN has all provincial league structures & all league fixtures are due in on 1 April 2011
