  2. Bellwork—On paper, respond... • Imagine you find out an alien is visiting earth. You are asked to choose ONE place to take it that best represents Earth. What place would you choose and why?

  3. Objectives • Understand what a research report is • Understand the purpose of a research report • Plan, draft, revise, edit, and publish a research report

  4. Assignment Organization • Why the place you have chosen is important • Tell its history • Describe its condition today • Predict something about its future

  6. Grammar • Students will write sentences in the SAV pattern.

  10. Sentence Pattern • Notice that no matter how many prepositional phrases are in the sentences, the pattern remains SUBJECT  ACTION VERB
