    2. Insurance Services Office (ISO) ISO is an independent organization that provides information about risk. Insurance Companies use ISO’s Public Protection Classifications in marketing, underwriting, and pricing homeowners and commercial property insurance. In general, the price of fire insurance in a community with good PPC is substantially lower than in a community with a poor PPC.

    3. Fire Suppression Rating Schedule (FSRS) ISO uses a uniform set of criteria to evaluate and assign the appropriate PPC (Class 1 to 10) to every community. FSRS Summary Receiving and Handling Fire Alarms = 10 pts. Fire Department = 50 points Water Supply = 40 points Texas Addendum Credits = 6.5 points

ISO PPC Rating Classification Point System 90.00 – 100 points = Class 1 80.00 -89.99 points = Class 2 70.00 - 79.99 points = Class 3 (if 76.08 points) 60.00-69.99 points = Class 4 (Current Class) 50.00-59.99 points = Class 5 40.00- 49.99 points = Class 6 30.00-39.99 points = Class 7 20.00-29.99 points = Class 8 10.00 – 19.99 points = Class 9 0.00 – 9.99 points = Class 10

    5. Special PPC Situations Class 9 is awarded to areas that are within five road miles of a fire station but over 1,000 ft. from a standard fire hydrant. Class 10 is awarded to areas that are located over five road miles from a fire station. FS#3 to TPC Clubhouse = 5.8 miles FS# 3 to 121 & Custer Target = 6.6 miles

    6. Consultant’s Review Process Field survey and analysis of: Needed Fire Flow Requirements, Water Supply and Distribution System Communications Facilities Fire Station Locations and Number Engine and Ladder/Truck Companies Staffing, Training, Code and Fire Inspection Conduct about 50 hydrant flow tests Review ISO Building Batch Report and Analyze Status Review Texas Addendum Estimation of current ISO PPC Rating Make Recommendations for improving the current estimated ISO classification

    7. PPC Estimation Results Receiving & Handling Fire Alarms – 7.2 of 10 possible Fire Department – 31.81 of 50 possible Water Supply – 37.48 of 40 possible Divergence - < 6.02> Texas Addendum – 5.61 of 6.5 possible Total – 76.08 of 106.5 total points possible ESTIMATED ISO RATING – CLASS 3

Recommended Improvements Communications Design and Prepare Call Detail Record (CDR) reports in accordance with ISO Standards Add two additional dispatchers per shift to achieve six dispatchers on duty at all times Provide a secondary dispatch circuit for on-duty fire suppression personnel, such as a “Rip & Run” reports at all fire stations

    9. Recommended Improvements Fire Department Five additional Fire Stations are needed
