What the program will cover • Development of you as the ICT Leader • A greater understanding of DEECD initiatives and resources • An in-depth look at your school’s programs and capabilities • An opportunity to update eLearning documentation at your school • Program planning and assessment of ICT across the school • Professional readings and opportunities to network and learn from each other

  3. Ultranet Readiness • ICT leadership as an Ultranet readiness strategy – developing leadership capacity • Support from the WMR Ultranet team at this program and in schools • A coordinated program (focussed on teaching and learning) throughout your school will ensure that you are ready for the Ultranet

  4. Ultranet Change Management Strategy • Whole of system strategy from DEECD • Regional Director accountability and performance targets • Part of Principal Performance Plans • Principals responsible for an ICT teaching & Learning goal in every teacher’s performance plan. This will probably be a collaborative action research project to be presented to staff • The days of hoping that ICT will go away are over!

  5. WMR Approach to Ultranet readiness • A differentiated approach • Proactive schools – sending someone to this training program • Remainder of schools – based on data collected at school visit by Ultranet coach

  6. Program OutlineDay 1 – setting the scene • Overview of program • context setting including current DEECD Student Learning Initiatives • Leading ICT Professional Learning and teacher ICT capabilities • data analysis and planning • Plenary & requirements for session 2

  7. Day 2 –Whole School Planning • Based on the Effective Schools Model • eLearning Plan & matrix • ICT Progression Strategy (SIPS) • ePotential • Outline of “what’s happening” at your school (classroom & Lab)

  8. Day 3 – Supporting & Maintaining Effective Teaching & Learning • ICT & Assessment, • ICT as a tool for learning • effective teaching practices • coaching & mentoring staff

  9. Day 4 – Creating a 21st Century Environment (workshops) • 21st Century Learning environments, • ICT for Powerful Learning including Blogs, Wikis, Podcasting, • Interactive Whiteboard technology • Peer Coaching

  10. Day 5 – Learning Communities & the Ultranet • Ultranet update • How to make time for Ultranet readiness • What are we already using/doing that will fit within Ultranet readiness • The place of the Ultranet in learning communities
