  1. What is it? • Travel back in rhyme is a poetry competition open to anyone of primary school age. • The editorial team will select poems on the basis of imagination, expression, interpretation of poetry, use of language and description.

  2. What do I need to do? • The poems should be based on a historical theme. • You can use any type of poetic form. • You should handwrite or type your poem on an A4 piece of paper. • Poems should be no longer than 30 lines.

  3. What could I win? • Every pupil entrant will receive a stylish Travel Back in Rhyme bookmark • Pupils chosen for publication will receive a certificate of merit to acknowledge their achievement. These successful pupils will be showcased alongside other selected pupils from schools within their region in a special anthology.

  4. Entries • You are only allowed one entry per person. • Entries should be with Miss Pearce by half-term with a completed pupil entry form.
