  3. why WEDDIP ? necessity to have a platform covering DD-implementation issues on the basis of cooperation; to discuss issues from a strategic perspective; to discuss alternative solutions/approaches for the DD implementation; to discuss background for chosen solutions; to exchange views on possible solutions for network requirements; Radiocommunication Agency

(cont) sharing plans and ideas on possible approaches for identifying (additional and/or alternative) resources, e.g.: the approach chosen by France and Germany with regard to their effort to freeing up the sub band; effects of new techniques etc); identifying overlapping activities and stumbling blocks; facilitating the negotiation processes (with the aim to advise negotiation teams on relevant topics); Radiocommunication Agency

WEDDIP' s responsibilities The WEDDIP Group shall coordinate the frequency coordination activities carried out by its member countries in order to implement the digital dividend, with a view to: Achieving mutual compatibility of the spectrum resources to be used in the VHF and UHF-band following the implementation of the digital dividend, for both broadcasting and/or mobile services; Facilitating any consequential modifications to the GE-06 Plan; Continuing to respect the principle of equitable access to spectrum resources in the spirit of GE06, while taking into account relevant future developments.
