  3. What is CribMaster Advantage? CribMaster Advantage Overview CribMaster Advantage is a CribMaster vending solution designed with the Distributor in mind. All customer data is maintained within the same database. This gives the distributor flexible control. All data communication is transported through a Web Service (Internet).

  4. The ultimate goal for this class is that you will leave with a implementation plan for your organization (you build your plan as we go). Each day we will try to take time to focus on how CribMaster Advantage could be/should be implemented. CribMaster Advantage Overview Within this class the instructor will try to define processes or workflow. This could help the student better understand where a process starts and ends.

  5. Prerequisite Software: • Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) • Microsoft SQL-Server 2008 CribMaster Advantage software CribMaster develops three different software products that combine to make CribMaster Advantage. • CribMaster Portal Server (Installed on the host server) • CribMaster Client (Admin – Installed on Distributors • PC, not customer’s PC) • ATR (Installed on all CribMaster Vending Machines)

  9. CribMaster Advantage Overview Recommended Bandwidth (Customer/ATR) Upload and Download Approximately 1.0mb – 1.5mb Recommended Bandwidth (Distributor) Upload and Download Approximately - T1 or greater Latency is a factor, Number of Hops, Customer’s Internet Connection, the processing power of the web server and the SQL Server. NOTE - CribMaster can not make bandwidth recommendations because we can’t know the distributor’s network environment.

  10. Continued CribMaster Advantage Overview Proxy Server Is a Proxy Server (Application Authorization) being used within the customers network?

  11. Bandwidth Checker: Used to test data communication speed. Customer Testing There are many web sites on the internet with a bandwidth checker built in. These sites are not developed or maintained by CribMaster. These sites are usually trustworthy yet use at your own risk. Some customer networks may block these sites. www.speakeasy.net www.speedtest.net Minimum bandwidth speed is 1Mb (or greater) upload and 1Mb (or greater) download speeds. Recommended bandwidth speed is 1.5Mb (or greater) upload and 1.5Mb (or greater) download speeds.

  12. CM Portal Tester: Used to test latency (communication delay) CMPortalTester.exe Customer testing Milli-second average under 250 is satisfactory. Between 250ms and 375ms is suspect and greater than 375ms is a show stopper.

  13. All class presentations are based on these CribMaster software versions: CribMaster Advantage Overview CribMaster Portal Server – 9.6.50425.0 CribMaster Client - 9.6.50425.0 ATR – 9.6.50425.1

  14. CribMaster Advantage Concept CribMaster Advantage was designed with the idea that Distributors needed a streamlined method to vend and replenish expendable products. CribMaster Advantage was not necessarily designed to support non-vending environments where supply and tool-rooms exist. Consider a Local/Full CribMaster installation for these environments. Customers who desire product vending are good candidates for CribMaster Advantage.

  15. CribMaster Advantage Goals Deliver a solution that Distributors can manage. One data-base / One Connection Deliver a solution that Distributors can replenish (over and over) expendable items. Deliver a solution that Distributors can control their own inventory. Deliver a solution that Distributors can install quickly. (on-site at Customer) Deliver a solution that Distributors can increase deployment frequency.

  16. CribMaster Advantage Goals and Concepts (Continued) Deliver a solution that Distributors can increase product profits. $

  17. Distributor Implementation Planning Best Practices Discussion - KIS (Keep it Simple –When Possible) Questions Distributors should consider up-front: Durable Items, Other Vendor Products, Other Customer Products, Manned/Un-Manned Tool Rooms, Re-Work Items, Gauges, Managed Items Not in a Vending Machine. Should you allow these types of items or activities? The bottom line is that a vending machine has so much space/capacity – use it wisely.
