Oklahoma Agricultural Education Supervision • Five supervisory districts • Northeast, Northwest, Southwest, Southeast, Central • State Program Administrator & Program Specialists • Responsible for promoting and maintaining quality programs (operations, reporting, funding and facilities) • PI groups

  10. Oklahoma Agricultural Education Funding • Agricultural Education programs in Oklahoma are 12 month programs (no exceptions) • Comprehensive High School Ag Ed programs are funded with a total of $14,232 per year/per teacher

Funding • $2400 Salary reimbursement (bonus for being careertech) • $6420 Program Assistance Grant (program operating funds) • $5412 Summer Salary Reimbursement (covers a first year teacher’s 2 month summer salary) Note: The school is essentially out the cost of a 10 month teacher. In reality it is more than that; however, any quality program is locally funded as such.)

Oklahoma Agricultural Education Questions often asked: • Does the school have to provide you with a 4-door dually pickup? • What is the salary of an Ag Ed teacher? • Who determines what teacher gets what job? • Who really is the Ag teacher’s boss? • Do I have to know everything? (sheep, hogs, cattle, welding, etc.)
