  1. Shao Yao Tang (Peony Decoction) • C: bai shao yao: • D: dang gui, gan cao, bing lang, mu xiang • A: huang lian, huang qin, rou gui • Pattern: Damp-heat lodged in the intestines where it causes the qi and blood to stagnate. • Indications: Abdominal pain, tenesmus, difficulty with defecation, diarrhea with pus and blood, a burning sensation around anus, dark, scanty urine, a greasy, slightly yellow tongue coating, and a rapid pulse

  2. Du Qi Wan (Capital Qi Pill) to Liu Wei Di Huang Wan add Wu Wei Zi • For chronic wheezing disorders in patients who are always short of breath and begin wheezing with little exertion.

  3. Gan Cao Xie Xin Tang (Licorice Decoction to Drain the Epigastrium) Ingredients: Ban Xia Xie Xin Tang(Pinellia Decoction to Drain the Epigastrium) Increase the dosage of the gan cao to 12-15g Pattern: strengthens, regulates the stomach, relieves focal distention, and stops vomiting; for severe Stomach Qi Deficiency with Cold-Heat Complex Syndrome. Indications: For inappropriate purgation with severe stomach qi deficiency.

  4. Sheng Jiang Xie Xin Tang (Fresh Ginger Decoction to Drain the Epigastrium) Ingredients: Minus dried ginger to 3g, adds 12g fresh ginger Pattern: regulate the Stomach, reduce focal distention, dispel clumping and purge water; for Water Heat Complex, or Stomach Deficiency with Food Stagnation and suspended fluids lingering internally. Indications: Firm epigastric focal distention, dry heaves with a foul odor, the sound of fluids in the hypochondria, very loud borborygmus, and diarrhea.

Yang He Tang (Yang-Heartening Decoction) Ingredients: C: Shu di huang: Nourishes the Yin and Blood Lu JiaoJiao: warm the Yang: tonifies the essence D: Rou Gui, Piao Jiang: warm up the yang, Disperse Cold, and Unblock the Collaterals A: Bai Jie Zi: Expels Phlegm-Rheum from the bones, muscle Ma Huang: Relieves the Exterior, opens the Interstices and pores E: Gan cao: Harmonizes the formula

  6. Yang He Tang (Yang-Heartening Decoction) Pattern: Warms Up the Yang, Nourishes the Blood, Disperses Cold, and Unblocks the Cold-Phlegm-Rheum Stagnation. Indications: Yin–type localized swelling. Localized, painful swelling without heads that blend into the surrounding tissue and do not affect the texture or color of the skin, and are not hot to touch. There is no thirst, the tongue is very pale, the pulse is submerged, thin, and forceless.
