Updates. Dec 19, 2006 Erik Brubaker U of Chicago. FTK production jobs. 100k test sample produced Dec 8-10 on the UC tier2 prototype cluster. Initially had problems running on our local “tier3” cluster. Eventually discovered problems due to compiler mismatch, with easy fix.

FTK production jobs • 100k test sample produced Dec 8-10 on the UC tier2 prototype cluster. • Initially had problems running on our local “tier3” cluster. • Eventually discovered problems due to compiler mismatch, with easy fix. • Repeated 100k test sample in 5 hrs on Dec 18! • In production mode, I expect to produce up to 750k events/day. Hidden Valley models • Matt Strassler (U Washington) explores “Hidden Valley” model space—regions having light particles, but so far inaccessible experimentally for some reason. • One class of HV models has light scalar Higgs decaying into new long-lived (3 ps-3 ns) particles. (hep-ph/0605193) • If those new particles decay to jets, the event signature is 2 pairs of jets, each pair sharing a displaced vertex. FTK Meeting

  5. Analysis • Plan to analyze H->hh->bbbb and the hidden valley samples in parallel. • Background samples/rates are the same. • Use Anton’s recent speed improvement to the LVL1 trigger rate function. FTK Meeting
